studio

It has been a month since my last post, but I have not been idle.  I decided during this time to ask Mike (my husband) to take a wall down between two bedrooms located in the basement.  I wanted to do this so I could set up a small photography studio.  My intention is to do boudoir, portraiture and product photography and turn my hobby into a part time business.  My husband and I did this work in 5 days over the Labour Day long weekend.  We each took two extra days off so that we could try to complete the task.  The pictures that follow are just a few that outline what we accomplished, needless to say we are proud of our accomplishments!

Room One

Room one with most of the furnishing gone.  The room originally belonged to our son Ben and recently was used as my mothers room when she visited from England.

Room two belonged to our son Rick.  Recently used as a guest room for my Aunt Kathleen when she visits with my mother from England.

Hmm.....What Next?

Drywall coming down

The vision is taking shape

Tearing down the drywall in Rick and Ben's room.  We are trying to keep it as neat and safe as we can for the animals.  It turned out that they never left our sides during this whole venture.  Both the cat and dog ended up with drywall dust and paint in their fur.

The studio space is defined

Trim put up around opening and many
coats of bright white paint

Stay tuned for the next post.  We are going to clean up the mess and set up the studio.  Can't wait!!!!!
